Kayboo Creations

 As a new blogger I often wonder what gets other people to blog and sometimes wish to pick their minds about certain things about blogging. Then I though what great way to get to know our fellow bloggers but to interview them! Since February is the month of love I got 14 wonderful bloggers to share themselves with us. First up is Karyn from Kayboo Creations.

1. The one question that you all might get asked the most is, What got you in to blogging?

In March of 2011 I was asked to talk to a group of girls ages 12-18 yrs, on a message from Dieter F. Uchtdorf http://www.youtube.com/watch?

v=TJC1sRJ8F0Q and was so inspired to go and CREATE something.

For years I had been reading other people's blogs and was inspired by the quality and quantity of projects they were getting done and decided to start my own blog.

2. What made you decide to blog about crafting?

Crafting and painting projects fulfill for me that creative outlet that I had tucked away.

3. What other talents do you have that your bloggers might not know about?

I went University and have a BFA in Art and Design with a major in painting and printmaking.

4. Do you have any advice to new bloggers?

Show and write about the things you love and are passionate about, and get your blog out there by joining link parties and visiting other blogs (comment too, you can build great relationships with other bloggers ).

5. Do you feel competition from other bloggers?

No, not competition but I am motivated by other bloggers to make sure that I have new projects and crafts to show.

6. What's your favorite craft project?

This is hard for me to say because I feel like I have ADHD when it comes to crafting and can't focus on just one kind of project.  I do love painting projects because there's an almost instant transformation....very rewarding!!!

7. What blogger do you admire the most or what blog do you visit the most?

The blog that motivated me the most at the beginning was, http://www.allthingsthrifty.

com/ because she made it look so easy.

The blog I go to the most right now is probably http://www.u-createcrafts.com  because of the amount/quality of projects she features and I love her "craft with me" challenges.

The blog that I admire the most is http://redhenhome.blogspot.

com/ because I feel like she has found a successful balance of family and her love of "crafting/painting".

8. Where do you see your blogging career taking you?

I'm not really sure.  I do love that I'm getting lots of projects done, making extra money from sales and I'm happy that I've got the creative juices going again but right now my "career" is being a mom to my kids and a wife to my husband.

9. Where do you see your blog in five years?

In five years all of my kids will be in school and I will have even more time for my art and projects.  I do hope my blog will become a place that others can come to for inspiration and motivation. 

10. How many hours a week do you spend blogging?

Around 10 hrs creating and then 1 hr to blog about it.  That number does not include how much time I spend viewing other great blogs though, maybe add another 5-7 hrs for that.  :)

11. If you are a new blogger do you seek help from others?

Of course, I'm so motivated by others and everyone I've come in contact with has been so generous with their advice and so kind with their words of encouragement. 

12. How many post do you typically put up on a week?

Right now, around 1-2 posts a week, although I do have goals for the New Year that will push that number higher.

Anything else you would like to add?

Just that taking the small amount of time that I do take for things that I love has made me a better mom and a happier person.  Whether I'm painting a piece of art, up-cycling furniture, crafting or coming up with a fun project for my kids, it just feels great to create something.
