Nicole is back with another guest post on her Vintage wooden bench painted awning green!
Vintage Bench with Danish Modern Legs; shes just about done, I have been working all evening finishing her up. I always wanted to try the "dipped leg" technique. So Modern and Vintage Chic all in one. I decided to paint the Hardware the same color Green, I sanded down the legs and painted half the legs Green too. I think it turned out cool, the next step is painting on a clear coat of polyurethane. Here is her look so far...

I've been in love with butterflies since my best friend bough me a butterfly from her trip overseas. She was so sweet to be thinking of me on her trip and I was so exited to have a beautiful purple butterfly in my home. I wanted to expand my butterfly collection but first I wanted to do research on how the butterflies are obtained by vendors. I found out something very interesting. If you find the right vendor they obtain butterflies from natives who have butterfly farms to help support themselves instead of cutting down their rain forest.
I went in search and I found this wonderful vendor who has butterflies where I could spread them myself and make a real butterfly dome.

If you did not know, I have a wonderful little boy who I hope one day gets to enjoy playing with Legos as much as I did and at times still do. I really want an excuse to play with Legos again but my little one is still a little young for them. He enjoys throwing them at the walls or taking them apart more than building anything. However, that has not stopped our family from buying them Legos for his last birthday or Christmas. Now I have a small problem, where do I put all this Legos when they are not being thrown at the walls?

Its that time of the week! Its time to Geek out with star wars! In my search for the greatness that is star wars I have scoured pinterest and I know bring you cookie cutters! I so need to get my hand on these cute little star wars cookie cutter because no Sunday afternoon can go with out baking star war cookies. Yoda would be quite disappointed in me.
Today we have Sarah over from Blog guidebook. When I first started blogging I was over at this site everyday trying to figure out my blog. If you have a blogging question you could stop by Blog Guidebook and they have a tutorial for it!
1. What's the reason you began blogging?
I started blogging as a sort of journal/scrapbook. Luckily when I met Lyndsay (via email) we were able to use both our talents
as bloggers…Lyndsay is the design guru and I'm the idea and fulfillment person.
2. What's your favorite DIY project you have done?
My favorite is painting my kitchen cabinets a bright aqua color. They were a dark wood color which I painted pale blue,
then I needed something bright and turned to aqua.
My other favorite is painting brick walls w/ a spray bottle. It was an amazing transformation!
3. What hidden talent do you have, in which you have not shared with your fellow readers?
Well, because my blog is pretty much specifically geared toward blogging and DIY blogging, I haven't talked much about food…
which is one of my passions. I love baking and icing cakes and cookies.
4. What are your blogging goals have you set for 2013?
Goals…let's see. We're focusing on really communicating one on one with our readers, leaving comments and replies, and of course,
growing our blog even more by branching out into new venues (such as crafts and recipes).
5. It seems like it that time of the year where a lot of blogging conference are happening. Have you attended any and if so which one would you recommend?
Sarah went to The SITS Girls Bloggy Bootcamp last year in St. Louis…it was just to meet other bloggers and see what the conference thing is all about. It was amazing! This year she is going to Phoenix to attend the SITS Girls Bloggy Business Camp. Definitely recommend the Bloggy Bootcamp…it's affordable for most bloggers and you learn a lot! There are many we'd LOVE to attend…Snap and BYB come to mind.
6. What was the best blogging tip you ever received and would pass on?
You can't blog alone. You have to have a partner or a group of bloggers to help you. If you try to do it on your own you will burn out and not grow. If you have a "tribe" you will have supporters that can tell their readers about you too. Having regular contributors helps take the performance pressure off too.
7. Do you find it easy in reaching out to other bloggers?
I think so. Of course, if they are "famous" you can't reach them because of the assistants and email machines, but smallerbloggers, new bloggers are good at asking for help and emailing back and forth.
8. How do you believe you are able to determine yourself between a small blog,a medium blog, large blog and a super star?
When we started blogging we hoped for about a thousand followers…now almost three years later we are grateful for our 3000+ (GFC) and all the others who read in us in their emails and readers. We try not to compare ourselves to super blogs (because they're just the lucky ones!) mostly because there are so many amazing blogs out in blogland…I found one recently that only had 200 followers but it was SOOOOO good! Don't compare yourself to others (another rule of blogging).
9. Where do you see yourself and your blog in five years?
I have no idea where the blog "industry" will be in five years. Hopefully it will still exist and be going strong. If it starts waning, then I'll get my brain turning and move onto the next project. As long as we can keep helping the average Jane blog her best we will be here. We'd love to find something amazing to do with our blog…we'll keep trying new things and meeting new bloggers. One long term goal would be to host our own "conference" and do it our way!
10. Anything else you would like add?
Thanks so much for the questions. They were answered by Sarah of The Blog Guidebook.
Thank you for stopping by and I hope you stop by tomorrow for more fun.

Today is Geek Friday !
I am going about my usual and I found this wonderful video of Peter Hollen singing the entire song of Misty Mountain from the Hobbit with only vocals! I was entrance the entire time with his singing. I am telling you I had goose bumps! You would think he had Dwarves working for him to sing back up. He gives you multiple views of each vocal, so you know its him singing the entire song. I think this is genius! He has also made of Game of Throne version which was more theatrical which is awesome of course.
I promise you that the entire time you are hearing this song, all you will be doing is staring at him! To tell you the truth, I subscribe to his you tube before the song was over. So you don't believe me? Go a head and watch it and tell me other wise. Come on, I dare you.
Thanks for stopping by and stay tune tomorrow for more blogger love!
We are going to start the 14 Days of Blogger Love with the wonderful Mandy from Sugar Bee Crafts! I have been a long time follower and just love everything she come us with. Mandy is going to share some blogging tips and a couple things about herself lets get started.
