Link Party Thursday Lucky #13

Over at Chronic Christian Crafter she had a lovely idea of writing on a lampshade. It will defiantly be a conversation starter at dinner parties.

Lori at Bleak 2 Unique has a wonderful use for duck tape!

Last put not least is Ashley at Cherished Bliss she has a great way to use fabric.

Picture Perfect Wednesday just for you!

My little monster wanting to help mommy with her crafting.

My hubby who I love dearly on Valentine's Day. He took me to my favorite restaurant Casa Vieja. Its the closes thing to Spanish food I can get in Dallas, Tx.

The best thing I ever made, my Lucien. He loves making funny faces.

Here I am! I just love my polka-dot scarf!

Till next time!

Headboard Tutorial!

I don't know about you but the last room that ever gets any decor love is my master bedroom. But now that I have more experience in DIY projects I just went for it. The first thing I wanted to change was the head board. I am rating this post with
I was able to do this headboard in under 30 minutes. (Just in time for my little monster's nap!)

One of the reasons it took that long was because I had to add an extra 3 inches of fabric to each side to make sure it would cover the panel. I used black fabric to make it blend.

I want to keep changing the fabric with my moods and because of that I did not glue or staple the fabric to the panel.

Ta-Da!! The finale, I used the same fabric from the chair because I had to place the chair in our room due to my little monster wanting to eat and play on the chair. I though why not use the same fabric on the headboard to make everything flow together. I still have a lot of work to do on our master bedroom but its a good start.

Friday Shout Out #2

What is this blog hop all about, you ask? Myself, Cinthya and a Guest Host will be hosting this blog hop every Friday for the duration of three days. The Guest Host will be a featured blogger picked randomly every week (and can only be featured once every month) from the list of everyone who link up. They will have the benefit of joining Cinthya and Myself in hosting the Friday Shout-Out blog hop along with getting some free promotional space on our blogs (hence the Shout-Out). We will post their button on our page for a week for free. Who doesn't love free advertisement?!
Meet out guest host: Lori from "A Scrapmom's Musings"

"What can I say about me?  Well, I'm an avid scrapper, bordering on obsessive! LOL! I also love photography, reading, baking, camping, blogging and drinking coffee.  I've been scrapping since I was 9 years old and glued my favorite pictures and souvenirs into an over-sized wallpaper book.  I no longer have that book, but I did try to save the memorabilia. I used to make my own scrapbooks using construction paper, but those have disappeared over time.
I've been published twice in two of Memory Makers Special Edition magazines--"Oh, Baby!" and "Get Organized".  It was a dream come true for me.  I've also won several contests through my lst a few years ago and placed second at the Creating Keepsakes Convention in Manchester, NH in 2009.  That, too, was exciting!  Every artist wants to be recognized for their hard work and I was so honored to place among so many other great scrappers.
Besides scrapping, I love to take pictures.  If I had the money for a professional camera, I'd definitely be a pro photographer.  Years ago, I used to sew which I now apply to my scrapping projects.  Just about every craft I've done in the past will see its way into scrapping--I think that's why I love it so much!   I also love to create minis.  They are so addictive to me.  It's been awhile since I've created some 12x12 layouts---for the last year, it's been nothing but mini albums and altered art.
I'm inspired by so many talented artists out there and I have blogging to thank for that.  Blogging has opened my eyes to so many new ideas and techniques.  And, I'm also grateful to those who are inspired by my work.  I never think it's good enough and yet there are people out there who just love my creations.  Thank you!  And YoutTube--wow!  That has done so much to make me think beyond the page and to think outside the box.  I just LOVE YouTube!
As far as my personal life.....
I'm married--going on 28 years to Michael.  We have two daughters of our own--Valerie who is 26 and is an Occupational Therapist at a local hospital.  My other daughter, Jaclyn, is 23 and is special needs.  She works part-time.  I also have a step-daughter whose son, Zachery-age 13, we're raising.  I also have two step-granddaughters.  I work full-time as a certified nursing assistant at a local nursing home.  My life is busy, often hectic, and yet fulfilling despite the ups and downs.
I hope this gives you idea of what I'm like.  Stop by often and see what I have to offer on my blog.  Thanks for stopping by.   Please leave a comment.  I love knowing what others may think.
Have a great day!"

Party Thursday #12

Let's begin with the most viewed link by Full Circle Creations  who made the stand for this cute clock! It almost looks a like to the one sold by pottery barn.

The cozy condo has this cute little tutorial of using an old sweater to cover a jar.

Crafting Rebellion is just full of inspiration and I just love this cute bracelet she made!
