Nightstand Redo/makeover

I was never a crafter until I became a mom of a wonderful little boy who fills my days with smiles and love. Now I am a full time mom and crafter of Pandora's Craft Box. I share my journey as a mom and crafter in hopes to inspire other and meet other wonderful bloggers. Come and join me, I promise you will like what you see!

I am so honored to be participating on American Crafters and I can't wait to see all the talent. I have had the same furniture for the past 6 years. I always worked full time and was only home to sleep. However, now that I am stay at home mom and I see the same things everyday. I just need a change. The first thing is to make our bedroom our own, instead of just a place were we sleep. One of the thing I change was my nightstand. I purchased this nightstand from the salvation army for $7.50. How excite was I! It was yellow and it did not go with my decor so to go with today's theme hardware gems I used paint to change the look.

I rate his post:

I just love when friends come over and are so willing to help me with projects. My son's godfather Kristian came over and was more than happy to help my hubby sand down my nightstand. They spent the whole night cranking jokes saying I was project supervisor. I said who else would make sure things will be done right.

Now the real work will start and I did it all by myself! I painted the nightstand white initially however, the white paint was a lot stronger than the purple paint we have purchased. Kristian told me if you want to do something right you must do it twice and that is exactly what I did.

I hand painted the flowers in white on the nightstand.

I used mod podge to clue the fabric to the drawer.

Then I use a plastic card to make sure it was glued to the edge of the drawer.

Here it is all in purple. Can you guess that my favorite color is purple? I had to         add three coats of purple paint to cover all the yellow.

Thank you so much Amy for hosting Nap Time Crafter where I am competing this season and for the opportunity to participate!

What a bright color choice! I really like it. I have light colors in my house so to me this is a really funky piece. Great job!

I hope this isn't like a "no no" to ask but what color/brand of paint did you use. I absolutely love the color and would like to pick some up.
